Groenlandica has literature for everybody: works of fiction as well as scientific and popular non-fiction, e.g. spectacular illustrated works, old and rare books.
The common denominator is that the literature is either published in Greenland or that it's about Greenland, Inuit or the Arctic.
The Groenlandica collection can be divided into two major parts: the open collection and the closed/restricted collection. The latter consists of the National Collection and various special collections. The open collection is the lending collection, which is integrated with the university collection. The lending collection is accessible during opening hours.
In addition to books and periodicals, Groenlandica also has collections of manuscripts, photos, posters, music (LPs, cassette tapes, CDs), films and videos.
